Thomas Edison State College held its 40^th Anniversary Commencement on Saturday, Sept 22, at the Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, N.J.  This year, 520 graduates received their diplomas as 3,600 of their guests looked on. Among the graduates are area residents:

Daaniyaal McGill of Fredericksburg, Va., who earned an Associate in Applied Science degree. Daaniyaal completed his degree requirements within one year at Thomas Edison State College. He said his AS degree in Electrical-Mechanical Systems and Maintenance qualified him for his construction electrician position with the U.S. Navy.

Tina Smith-Jefferies (photo attached) of Woodbridge, Va. earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. Tina is employed as a Life Insurance Examiner for APPS. “Thomas Edison State College helped me to achieve my degree and I now have the experience and education to further my career,” she noted. Tina used Thomas Edison State College courses and transfer credits to satisfy her BA in liberal studies degree requirements.
