The Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Fire Department regretfully announces the passing of Life Member Robert G.  Haggerty on April 15 2011.  Mr. Haggerty served as a Delegate to the Prince William County Fireman's AssocLiiation and the Prince William County Fire Board.  He held the rank of Assistant Fire Chief and President and was a member of the Board of Directors of OWL VFD.

Mr. Haggerty also was a Volunteer in the Falls Church VFD, Co. 18 in Fairfax County Station 18 and past President of the Avalon Shores Volunteer Fire Department in Anne Arundel County Maryland.

A wake will be held at the Mountcastle Funeral Home on Occoquan Road on Wednesday, May 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. with Fire Department Honor Guard. 

Mr. Haggerty was born at Quantico Marine Corps Base on June 3, 1931 and will be laid to rest at the Quantico National Cemetery at a graveside service with military honors on May 26 at 11 a.m.
