Bloom is officially gone from the Dillingham Square shopping center. Parent company Delhaize American announced in January that it was closing or converting Bloom stores into its original Food Lion brand.

This Lake Ridge location received new signage on April 20. Customers have to sign up for MVP cards to get club discounts at the store, Bloom Breeze cards are no longer applicable.

The Noblewood Plaza Bloom remains closed. In a poll, readers overwhelmingly picked Wegmans as their favorite grocery store. Trader Joe's was named another favorite, but the company has no immediate plans to open a chain in the Woodbridge area.

Food Lion is located at 12420 Dillingham Sq. in Lake Ridge.

Why did they change the name in the first place? I think most of the "projects" conceived by management are exercises in "make work" in order to try to justify their overpaid salaries. It least some blue collars will get paid in order to change the signs on the buildings. Minimum wage scale probably.

Rick,
Originally, it was a Food Lion in that shopping center. Then, it was a Bloom. Now, it's back to Food Lion. The parent company, Delhaize American, said they were closing underperforming Bloom stores and switching some back to Food Lions because they believed "the stores will better meet customer needs through low prices and quality products."
