Update, 11:08 a.m.:

As of 10:30 a.m. Friday morning, the Potomac Nationals’ grandstand was filled with spectators. A smaller portion of spectators were surrounding the pitching mound and home plate. President Obama spoke along the third base line, in front of a “forward” sign, the campaign’s slogan.

Other event-goers filled in the outfield, which had picnic tables and kids activities including a bounce house and batting cage.

Just before 11 a.m. two helicopters landed on one of the practice fields outside the stadium. President Obama was spotted walking into the stadium and briefly waved to spectators inside.

Update, 11:03 a.m.:

President Obama's helicopter has landed.

Update, 10:44 a.m.:

President Obama's dais is set up along the third baseline.

Update:

The stands are pretty full. President Obama will likely be speaking from the third baseline. The outfield is filled with people and activities for the kids. The press are in the infield.

Original story:

The Potomac Nationals Pfitzner Stadium will rapidly fill today with a crowd of local residents eager to see President Barack Obama at a grassroots campaign stop in Woodbridge.

You can snap a picture from where you're sitting, or maybe you could send us a picture of how full the parking lot is, or how bad the traffic was on the way over. I would be interested to see what the final count on attendance was and also any coverage of protesters outside the event.

RME,
The head count was 12,000 according to Lt. Dave Cooper, Fire Marshal for Prince William County. The was a counter rally held by Republicans including Chairman Corey Stewart.
Thanks for your comment!

Nice try but the stadium seats a whole lot more than 6000. 10,000 were not turned away - funny! I estimate that about 2000 showed up and some of the busses said DC on them. Good luck in November Mr. Obama - you might need to go abroad to find a new JOB though!

The seating capacity of the stadium is 6000. Take 15 seconds and look it up on any website. Also, just because the plate says DC doesn't mean the occupants on the bus are from DC. I have a suspicion they contracted a company that has a bus that is registered in DC. I know, pretty wild theory.

Stadium seats were full and there were thousands on the field. 12,000 seems like a very good estimate. I arrived at 8:45 or earlier and there were thousands in line already. On the 1,000 protesting, I think patch lets you post pictures. Since I posted my own of the President with no problem, I would love to see those photos. Have no argument here other than to ask why you are so mad.
