Trying out a new restaurant is a great way to spend Valentine's Day with the whole family.

• Head over to Potomac Community Library and pick up February’s monthly mind bender contest form and complete it with the whole family.  This month’s topic is “Black History Month.” You could win a prize if you submit your answers! The contest runs all month.

• Head over to Chinn Park Regional Library for February’s Family Craft Night on Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. This month families will be making a skateboarding valentine pig to celebrate Valentines Day. This is a free event.

• Check out the TGIF Family Fitness and Fun class at Chinn Aquatics and Fitness Center on Feb. 11at 6:30 p.m. There is a $15 fee for this class for families with children three-years-old and up.

• Celebrate Black History Month at Potomac Community Library on Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. by watching Diane Macklin tell stories for the whole family. This is a free event, but be sure to register early because there is a 100 person limit.

• Stop by OWL Volunteer Fire Department for Bingo night on Wednesday, Feb. 9 or Saturday, Feb. 12 at 5:15 p.m.

• Enjoy a concert by the Prince William Symphony Orchestra Ensemble at Chinn Park Regional Library on Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. Registration is required for this event.

• Support the Youth Orchestra of Prince William County Preparatory, Primo, Repertory, and Concert Orchestras as they present their concert at Gar-Field Senior High School on Feb. 13 at 3 p.m. There is an admission fee for this event.

• Support the local high school and middle school celebrities by attending a sporting event:

  • Northwest Regional Swim Championship Tournament at the Freedom Center in Manassas on Feb. 11 at 6 p.m.
  • Gar-Field Senior High School Junior Varsity girls’ basketball at Hylton High School on Feb. 11 at 6:15 p.m.
