Groom Raises the Bar on Surprise Wedding

I have heard of wedding surprises but this one indeed takes the cake! Check out this video (to the right), where the groom completely surprised the bride with a wedding of her dreams.

At first Colleen suggested eloping to Las Vegas but Shawn Lippert thought she deserved so much more. So they decided on a nice surprise wedding in September, disguised as a casual barbecue that they invited all their family and friends to. Unknown to Colleen, Shawn covertly plotted and planned to have it a month earlier, complete with everything she wanted. 

Colleen was Shawn's girlfriend for the past seven years and he knew so much about her, like her favorite movie "Princess Bride," even her favorite saying that he presented to her at the reception.

For a year, Shawn casually asked her various questions about what she really wanted at her wedding and answered "As you wish" (from Princess Bride) to each one. Colleen hadn't a clue that Shawn actually listened and wrote down every request "In a really thick book," he said. On the video you can hear her comment that he set up the wedding exactly as she envisioned it, right down to mason jar tea lights on the table, white ball lights to the rose petals on the red carpet she was to walk on as a bride. 

He was so nervous about getting what she really needed to get dressed for the wedding that he and his friends moved her entire bedroom set into the dressing area that morning. Shawn made sure that every little detail of the wedding went off perfectly.

The heart-warming video of the planning, proposal and wedding is truly moving and a joy to watch. Anytime Colleen thinks about how much he loves her, she can reflect on her unforgettable amazing wedding day. Shawn Lippert is a true romantic who raised the bar on weddings!
