This fall, the Virginia Department of Transportation will hold three public information meetings, in Fairfax, Prince William, and Stafford county to give the community an opportunity to learn more about the Interstate 95 High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) / High Occupancy Toll (HOT) Lanes Project.
This project is designed to increase travel capacity, extend the reversible HOV lanes, and create a seamless network to relieve bottlenecks along the corridor.
The I-95 HOV/HOT Lanes will begin from just north of Edsall Road on I-395 and extend south to Garrisonville Road in Stafford County. Improvements include adding nine miles of new lanes south of Dumfries Road (Rte. 234), and improving the existing HOV lanes between Dumfries Road (Rte. 234) and the Prince William Parkway by creating or upgrading access points at key interchanges.
Additionally, the existing HOV lanes from the Prince William Parkway to Edsall Road will be increased from two lanes to three lanes.
The public will have a chance to look at the project scope, review the plans, and voice any concerns at the upcoming public information meetings.
The meetings are scheduled for late fall and will be announced through various media channels and on vamegaprojects.com.
