Local Charities to Give Free Fresh Produce to Needy on Feb. 28

B-Thrifty Super Thrift Store open to all who find themselves in need, with support of Salvation Army, Old Bridge United Methodist Church and the Capital Area Food Bank volunteers.

Local community groups will give out free fresh produce this Thursday at B-Thrifty Super Thrift Store to anyone in need.

Come to the thrift store from noon to 2 p.m. at 13412 Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge for fruits and veggies handed out by volunteers from The Salvation Army, B-Thrifty the Super Thrift Store, Old Bridge United Methodist Church and the Capital Area Food Bank.

This giveaway happens on the fourth Thursday of every month.

"The community program was established five months ago to support Prince William County residents affected by the current economic hardships," a B-Thrifty release read. "The free giveaway has grown each month, supporting 250 people the first time and helping more than 800 individuals (approximately 175 families) last month."

For more information or to participate, contact Alonso Zamora or B-Thrifty at 703-944-9000.

I thank them for what they are doing. A lot of people are being blessed because of them.
