Occoquan Man Charged With Assaulting Woman at Local Motel

Clarence Olutayo Olowu, 28, was charged with abduction and assault and battery.

 

Prince William County Police have charged a local man in relation to a recent assault on a cleaning woman at a Woodbridge Econo Lodge. 

Clarence Olutayo Olowu, 28, of Center Lane in Occoquan, was arrested on Nov. 20 and charged with abduction and assault and battery. 

The 39-year-old woman reported that she was cleaning a room at the motel on Nov. 18, when a strange man walked inside the room and closed the door. The man grabbed the victim, but she defended herself and he fled. Police released images from the surveillance video, which the man involved. 

Olowu's court date is set for Jan. 25. He was held without bond. 

Information was provided by the Prince William County Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
