One underage woman was charged with DUI.

A Woodbridge woman has been charged in a fatal hit-and-run that occured along I-95 North just after midnight Saturday morning, according to Virginia State Police.

The incident occurred near Lorton and the 162 mile-marker.

A vehicle was stopped on the shoulder of the highway, and the male driver of that vehicle was struck and killed by a passing Hyundai Santa Fe that Carol Rood-Johnson, 19, reportedly was driving. The SUV left the scene of the incident, reported Corinne N. Geller, public relations director for the Virginia State Police. Police located the SUV in Prince Georges County, MD. Saturday morning.

The Virginia State Police Accident Reconstruction Team was on the scene for an extended period early Saturday morning.

Correction: An earlier version of this story connected an unrelated incident to this fatal hit-and-run.

This is sad news. People drive drunk think of nobody but them selfs. I would not walk down the street drunk much less drive. They need to do this more often flood the roads with troopers.

If the cops really want to catch Drunk drivers they just need to put cars on the old cars on the side of the road with a camera on it. Then just sit downwind and pull over the Drunks that hit the car.

This woman needs to sit her ass in jail for awhile. Maybe then she will realize the full ramifications of what she has done. I have no sympathy for drunks who drive,

Very sad story. Two lives ruined by someone's foolish and down right stupid decision to drive drunk.
