Register for Robotics Camp at Woodbridge Senior High School

Register now for the summer camp

From Northern Virginia Community College:

Registration is under way for summer robotics camps offered by Northern Virginia Community College’s Manassas Campus. Fourteen camps covering multiple age groups and robotics platforms will be held at Woodbridge Senior High School in eastern Prince William County and Patriot High School in the western end of the county.

Participants will build skills in engineering, computer science and physics. In addition, they will learn teamwork and tackle a team challenge at the end of the camp.

Experienced high schoolers will be interested in FIRST Robotics. During this two-week camp, participants will build a large-scale robot using power tools and other machining equipment.

New this year is Jason ROV focusing on underwater robotics. Campers will work in teams of four to build an underwater robot that will be tested in a pool on the last day.

Other camps include VEX 1 and 2, FIRST Lego League, Advanced Lego NXT, Robotics Programming NXT and Robotics Programming Cortex.

Camps run one or two weeks with a competition or parent demonstration on the final day. For details, visit www.nvcc.edu keyword “systemic solutions” or email mwjohnson@nvcc.edu

The camps are sponsored by the Manassas Campus Science and Applied Technologies Division and NOVA’s SySTEMic Solutions program which partners with local school divisions to encourage students to consider STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) careers.
