The following comes from the Prince William County Police. Where arrests or charges are mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.
Prince William County Police have arrested and charged a Woodbridge man with armed robbery using a firearm in commission of a felony.
Police reports said that an 18-year-old Dumfries man told police he made arrangements to meet with a known acquaintance in the 5300 block of Dale Boulevard on Thursday.
"Once there, the victim got into a vehicle occupied by the known acquaintance, later identified as the accused," police reports state. "Once inside the accused displayed a handgun and demanded money. During the encounter, a struggle ensued and the victim was able to get the firearm away from the accused and flee the vehicle."
Kenneth Mauricio Manzano, 22, allegedly then grabbed the victim’s keys and cell phone. No injuries were reported. The accused was located nearby a short time later and was arrested without incident. This incident was not random.
Manzano is being held without bond, police said. His court date is Oct. 3.
