A Manassas man was also charged.
A Woodbridge man and Manassas man were both charged this week with the rape of a 10-year-old Manassas girl, Prince William County police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.
On July 22, detectives from the Special Victim's Bureau began investigating the reported sexual assault of the young girl.

A 20-year-old Manassas woman also reported that she had been sexually assaulted by the Woodbridge man. The Manassas man was arrested July 23, and the Woodbridge man was arrested July 24.

Sexual abuse of any woman is tragic and disgusting, but there is a special corner in Hell reserved for those that would sexually abuse a child. If these men are found guilty, they should never be allowed back into society.

Hey Graham- How about you let them have their day in court before we start splashing their names all over the internet? What if they are found to be innocent?

Well then why do they publish names of people in police reports who have been arrested for various crimes, but obviously haven't been tried and convicted in a court of law yet? If they can print names of minor petty crimes' perpetrators then they damn sure should print the names of these child molestors......

Or maybe they shouldn't publish the names of anyone charged with ANY crime until they are convicted?

Hi Garth and Barry,
Thanks for your comments. It is Patch policy not to identify the victims of sexual crimes. By naming those arrested, known acquaintances of the victim, it could inadvertently identity the victim.

That is not always the case. There are hundreds of 10 year old girls in Manassas area, and those that know the girl already, her friends, acquaintances, and family already know she is a victim of rape. Who else is there to find out? Anyway, by the victim inadvertently being identified would then cause what to happen? There are countless stories such as this that happen every day all over and the names of those arrested are always reported and published. As well as it should. What if they meet bond, get out, and while awaiting court appearance, decide to go and brutalize another child that just happens to be within arms length? Makes absolutely no sense at all.

Jamie, thanks for your comment. We publish the names of those who were not known acquaintances of a victim, however, as already stated, we believe it's better not to do anything that might identify a victim of sexual crimes. In addition, it's good to remember that any arrests or charges are not the same as convictions.

There are several reasons to not reveal the names of the accused. First and foremost is to protect the identity of the little girl that has been traumatized terribly. We MUST NEVER forget that she is the victim, and does not deserve to be grilled by the media or harassed by nosey neighbors and cruel children and classmates. She is going to need a lot of help to get through the trials, reliving the horrors of being raped.
Second, as has already been stated, lets let these guys have their day in court. If they are guilty, you will know their names soon enough.
