Woodbridge Teen Charged With Armed Robbery, Malicious Wounding
A Triangle teen claimed he was attacked and robbed.
Police charged a 14-year-old Woodbridge male with armed robbery and malicious wounding after a 17-year-old Triangle male told police that he was attacked and robbed on July 11, police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.
The victim told police that he ran into the accused, who was a known acquaintance, in the 18500 block of Old Triangle Road.
"The accused allegedly approached the victim from behind, punched him in the face, threatened him with a knife and kicked him numerous times in the head prior to fleeing the area on foot with the victim’s cell phone and wallet," Perok said.
When police arrived at 11:30 p.m., they began investigating using a K-9 unit. They soon found the accused in a nearby wooded area, Perok said.
The victim's wallet and cell phone were returned, and he was treated at a local hospital for injuries that were not serious.
The accused was charged with armed robbery, malicious wounding, and a probation violation. His court date is unavailable. He is being held at a Juvenile Detention Facility.
