 anizations\, the Spiritual Alliance to Stop Intimate Violence\, and the 
 Foundation for Hospices in Sub-Saharan Africa. She also has served as a 
 development consultant in West Africa and as a program coordinator at th
 e African Gender Institute at the University of Cape Town for programs o
 n Race and Gender and Gender-Based Violence in Education. She has taught
  at the University of Hartford\, University of Connecticut and Brevard C
 ollege\, and has also led Truth and Reconciliation Workshops for groups 
 dealing with different types of conflict. She founded the Tutu Foundatio
 n for Development and Relief in Southern Africa.\nTutu holds a BA in Eco
 nomics and French from Berea College and an MA in International Economic
