Enjoy the fall weather around the area by visiting a park or having picnics outside. Winter will be here before we know it!

  • Head over to Potomac Community Library and pick up September’s monthly mind bender contest form and complete it with the whole family.  This month’s topic is “Back to School Puzzle.” You could win a prize if you submit your answers! Forms must be completed and turned in by Sept. 30 by 5 p.m. for the drawing.
  • Attend Bingo night with the OWL Volunteer Fire Department in Woodbridge on Sept. 21 and Sept. 24 at 5:15 p.m.
  • Help make Lake Ridge Park a more beautiful place by taking part in the Volunteer Work Days program at the park on Sept. 24 at 10 a.m.
  • Support the local middle and high school celebrities by attending a sporting event:
    • Gar-Field golf at Forest Greens Golf Course on Sept. 21 at 3:30 p.m.
    • Woodbridge Senior High School cross country at Occoquan Regional Park on Sept. 21 at 4 p.m.
    • Gar-Field Senior High School cross country at Occoquan Regional Park on Sept. 21 at 5 p.m.
    • Gar-Field Senior High School vs. Woodbridge Senior High School freshman and junior varsity football on Sept. 21 at 5:30 p.m.
    • Gar-Field Senior High School volleyball at Osbourn Park High School on Sept. 22 at 5 p.m.
    • Woobridge Senior High School volleyball at Hylton High School on Sept. 21 at 5 p.m.
    • Gar-Field Senior High School varsity field hockey vs. Osbourn Park High School on Sept. 22 at 7 p.m.
