Holly Acres Mobile Home Park Owner to Appeal Zoning Opinion

Zoning administrator said the homes demolished by flooding could not be rebuilt, landowner disagrees.

Victims of the Sept. 8 flooding in are still trying to rebuild their lives after they lost their homes.

InsideNova.com reports that the owner of the mobile home park is trying to fight the zoning administrator's opinion that the homes devastated by the flooding cannot be rebuilt. Many of the homes are in a FEMA-designated floodway, which prevents any structure from being rebuilt once destroyed by flooding.

The article looks at what the owner believes will win him an appeal, including the state of the CSX culvert in the area of Marumsco Creek, county zoning codes and the county's watershed study.
