What You Need to Know About Latest Winter Weather Advisory

Woodbridge residents urged to prepare, watch forecasts for updated details.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Woodbridge region from Sunday morning to Monday morning.

Here's what you need to know, as of 2:30 p.m. Friday, according to the NWS

1. A winter storm watch means there is a potential for significant snow, sleet and ice accumulations that may impact travel.

2. Snow and sleet are expected Sunday morning, changing over to freezing rain Sunday afternoon. Freezing rain may last into Monday morning before changing to rain.

3. 1 to 2 inches of snow and sleet is possible, followed by a quarter of an inch or more of ice.

4. Hazardous conditions may include slick roads and ice Sunday into Monday. Increased power outages are possible.
