Dale City Patch: Video: State Police Remove Homeless From I-95 Camps

Virginia State Police said they did not issue any citations for trespassing on Thursday when they  along Interstate 95 in Dale City.

State Police spokeswoman Corrine Geller said troopers had cleared the entire area by early afternoon and deemed it vacant, at which point Virginia Department of Transportation contractors began to clean up the area. Troopers had been visiting the campsites every night for over a week to inform all the people living in those areas that they must be out by Thursday.

Manassas Patch: City of Manassas Among Healthiest in Virginia

Manassas is among the top 10 healthiest cities in Virginia, according to a set of reports released this week.

Manassas ranks number 10 out of 134 jurisdictions surveyed. The information was published by County Health Rankings.

According to the County Health Rankingswebsite, the survey focused on many different factors outside of health care that contribute to a healthy (or not) lifestyle, including individual health behaviors, education and jobs, and the environment.

Lake Ridge-Occoquan Patch: Delegate's Military Friendly Legislation Approved By Governor

Gov. Bob McDonnell packed Fort Lee ballroom with legislators, activy duty military men and women and their families last night to announce the passage of numerous bills, including three from Del. Richard Anderson.

All of the bills will have a positive impact for those in the military and veterans.

Both Anderson and the governor made it a goal to make Virginia more of a military friendly state. Anderson, R-Woodbridge, said his three bills help him accomplish that goal.
