VDOT: Ramp from Route 123 to I-95 to Shift and Narrow

This project is a part of VDOT's Megaprojects for a safer merging area.

Motorists should expect delays merging from south to Interstate 95 south for six weeks in April and May while the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) extends the acceleration lane to create a safer highway merge area.

Beginning Sunday, April 3, crews will shift and narrow the ramp from Gordon Blvd. (Route 123) south to I-95 south so crews can extend the ramp’s acceleration lane.

Construction will continue through May 13, when crews will close this on-ramp and one lane of I-95 south for an entire weekend.
