Weekend Picks: Pirates, Bazaar, and Salute to Liberty

When/Where: 3610 Wanda Ct., Woodbridge, Friday Nov. 4, 8 p.m.

Why Go: In honor of Veterans Day, will present Freedom: A Salute to American Liberty. The production is a multi-media presentation that combines narration and music with a moving historical and contemporary visual accompaniment. The Old Bridge Chamber Orchestra, Harpist David Crookston and the Children's Choir of the Mary G. Porter Traditional School will join NDC in their musical tribute to America's Veterans.

Pricing: $15 adults, $10 students, seniors, active duty military.

Where/When: Lazy Susan Dinner Theater, 10712 Richmond Hwy., Lorton; Friday Nov.4 and Saturday Nov. 5, at 6 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 6 at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Why Go: Swashbuckling romance as only the inimitable Gilbert & Sullivan could create! The buffet includes Pennsylvania Dutch Entrees, including: salads, relishes, home-baked breads, roast beef, chicken, fish, and desserts.

Pricing: Ranges from $25 to $45.

Where/When: 13639 Greenwood Dr., Woodbridge, Saturday Nov. 5, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy friends, food, music, dancing, games, face painting, moon bounces and more at the first Fall Festival of Minnieville Elementary School.

Pricing: $1 in advance or $2 at the door. Unlimited games is $8 in advance or $10 at the door.

 Where/When: , 14160 Ferndale Rd., Dale City, Saturday Nov. 5 and Sunday Nov. 6, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go:  Shoppers can browse through over 55 vendors displaying wares from doll clothes and quilts, to candles and lotions, to baked goodies and Dark Hollow Sauce, to scroll saw magic, to cosmetics. Have a cup of coffee or bite to eat at the Youth Ministry Cafe, take a chance on a raffle, and jump start your holiday shopping.

Pricing: Prices vary, attendance is free.

Where/When: , 7611 Hayfield Rd., Alexandria, Saturday Nov. 5, 8:00 a.m.

Why Go: The Kingstowne Striders are proud to present The Jack T. Farrar, Jr. "Fill the Shoes" 5K. This event is runner and walker friendly. All registrants will receive a t-shirt and an insulated polar water bottle in addition to a race bag with some great coupons. There will also be drawings for prizes at the end of the race. This is an officially timed event with overall and age group awards. All proceeds from the race will go to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

Pricing: $35.
