New Ghostly Stories on Haunted Occoquan Tour

Just in time for Halloween, local ghost tour guide Kay Pietrewicz has new stories about the spirits who just can't bear to leave Occoquan behind.

Local ghost tour guide and paranormal investigator Kay Pietrewicz has collected even more ghostly tales this year, just in time to guide visitors through the haunted streets of Occoquan during Halloween season.

"The whole town needs to bring more people in, and hopefully I'm contributing," Pietrewicz said.

Pietrewicz took over the ghost tours in early November of last year, and since then has launched Haunted Occoquan. She's giving tours at 8 p.m. on Wednesday through Saturday all this month, with twice daily tours Sunday through Friday the week of Halloween.

"If people want to have a special tour, Monday through Tuesday night, I'm happy to do that, but they need to have at least ten people," Pietrewicz said.

Group tour prices are $10 a ticket for a group of 10 or more. During Halloween week, if you come in costume, you get a $2 discount. Bring a group of ten or more during Halloween week, and tickets will be $8 each for those in costume.

Occoquan is going all out for Halloween this year, with the Haunting of Occoquan bringing spooky characters into town, and a Halloween parade later this month.

"We're trying to get some more stuff going on in town," Pietrewicz said.

Pietrewicz had a Haunted Occoquan booth this year at the Occoquan Fall Arts & Crafts Show, and she's now training her tour guide to be a paranormal investigator. But she's not setting up a team. She prefers to freelance.

Pietrewicz still takes part in paranormal investigations in the area, including a recent investigation at Madigan's in town and the analysis of a possible ghostly child's presence at Puzzle Palooza

"There's maybe some activity in the little museum, but i haven't confirmed that yet," she added. "I'm always happy to hear more stories, so if people want to contact me and tell me their personal experiences, I would really appreciate it. They can come down and meet me and tell me the stories when they're here."
