You may want to know how area restaurants performed in their last Virginia Department of Health inspection.
Restaurants in the Commonwealth are inspected between one and four times a year. There are two types of violations: Critical and non-critical. What's the difference? Critical violations, unless corrected, can contribute to "food contamination, illness or environmental degradation," according to the state health department.
"In our experience, it is unrealistic to expect that a complex, full-service food operation can routinely avoid any violations," according to Virginia Department of Health's website.
The site continues: "Keep in mind that any inspection report is a 'snapshot' of the day and time of the inspection. On any given day, a restaurant could have fewer or more violations than noted in the report. An inspection conducted on any given day may not be representative of the overall, long-term cleanliness of an establishment."Name Facility Location Date No. of Critical Violations Alvey Elementary School 5300 Waverly Farm Dr 14-Feb-2013 0 Dominion Valley Country Club Client ID # 135577280 15200 Arnold Palmer Dr 14-Feb-2013 1 Dunkin Donuts / Baskin Robbins 2201 Old Bridge Rd 14-Feb-2013 0 Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins 13585 Minnieville Rd 14-Feb-2013 0 Minnieland Early Learning Center 5555 Assateague Pl 14-Feb-2013 0 Minnieland Early Learning Center 15040 Heathcote Blvd 14-Feb-2013 0 Great American Buffet 8365 Sudley Rd 13-Feb-2013 1 Pennington Elementary School 9305 Stonewall Rd 13-Feb-2013 1 Tom's Diner 9003 Centreville Rd 13-Feb-2013 2 Wonderful Virginia Academy 13420 Minnieville Rd 13-Feb-2013 0 Auntie Anne's Pretzels Kiosk 2700 Potomac Mills Circle, Space 26A 12-Feb-2013 0 Auntie Anne's Pretzels #1 2700 Potomac Mills Circle #168 12-Feb-2013 0 Burger King #12191 5301 Waterway Dr 12-Feb-2013 0 Cinnabon 2700 Potomac Mills Circle #166 12-Feb-2013 0 Freedom High School 15201 Neabsco Mills Rd 12-Feb-2013 0
