After a , Savers will celebrate the grand opening of a new location in Woodbridge at 8:45 a.m. on July 19.
“We’re very excited to open our first store in Woodbridge,” said Mandy Heritage, the new store manager. “We can’t wait to offer local residents great deals on quality home décor and name brand, designer and vintage fashions. We’re also thrilled to grow our partnership with the Vietnam Veterans of America.”
The national thrift store chain has almost 290 stores in North America. Sales benefit its nonprofit partner, Vietnam Veterans of America. There are seven other Savers stores in the Washington, D.C. area run under the Unique Thrift and Value Village brands.
Savers brings 50 new jobs to the area and will stock everything from clothing to housewares to electronics. The store will also take donations of reusable clothing and other goods.

"Savers pays Vietnam Veterans of America for every donated item, turning otherwise unused goods into sustainable revenue that supports their programs and services in the local community," a Savers release read.
Savers stated that last year, it kept over 600 million pounds of unused goods out of the landfills, with the help of its nonprofit partners.
“Our partnership with Savers helps us continue in our mission of aggressively advocating on issues important to veterans including quality health care, providing programs and services that improve the well-being of all veterans and their families and serving our communities,” said Quentin Butcher, Business Director of Vietnam Veterans of America. “Every time local residents donate their gently used items at Savers or through our home pick-up service, they are truly making a difference and helping to support our important work.”
Special opening activities will continue through July 21. Customers have the chance to win one of five $100 Savers gift certificates.
The hours for the store and donation center, located at 14427 Potomac Mills Rd., will be Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
