Thanksgiving Weekend Movie Picks

Visit the movie theaters this holiday to get over your turkey coma.

As America is stuffing their faces this Thanksgiving, Hollywood is banking on your desire for a visual feast with a slew of new releases on the 24th.

Tangled: After the mediocre success of The Princess and the Frog, Disney vowed to stay away from hand drawn animation and move to CGI. Tangled is their first attempt since and the first Disney CGI in awhile without the Pixar name attached. Based on the story of Rapunzel, Tangled follows the chance meeting of the girl with the long blonde hair (voiced by Mandy Moore) and a rouge thief, who chooses her tower as his hideout. Expect light hearted laughs and some impressive visual effects if you choose to view in 3-D.

Burlesque: If you're looking for something a little more risqué, Burlesque might be the film for you. Starring Christina Aquliera and Cher, Burlesque follows the trials and tribulations of a small town girl's adventure to the big city where she befriends an older dancer. A multitude of dance numbers should satisfy those looking for a Chicago-esque escape.

Love and Other Drugs: Pairing Jake Gyllenhal and Anne Hathaway, Love and Other Drugs is a romantic comedy for the younger crowd. Gyllenhal plays a Pfizer salesman who finds love in the form of Anne Hathaway. Directed by Edward Zwick, known more for his action movies (Blood Diamond and The Last Samurai) Love and Other Drugs has some critics liking it to this year's Up in the Air but early reviews have it striking below 50 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Have a delicious and safe Thanksgiving. And if you still haven't seen Harry Potter, be sure to check it out.
