Sam Hosn Named General Manager of Potomac Mills

Release, WOODBRIDGE, VA (March 26, 2014) – Potomac Mills, the largest outlet and value retail shopping destination in the Washington, DC area, is pleased to announce Sam Hosn as its new General Manager. The announcement was made by Paul Fickinger, Executive Vice President of Property Management for The Mills, a Simon Company.

“We are excited to welcome Sam to the dynamic management team at Potomac Mills,” Fickinger said.  “His extensive mall-related experience will be a great asset as we broaden our retail mix, enhance our shoppers’ experience, support community efforts and continue to enjoy strong sales and visitor traffic.”

As General Manager, Hosn will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of Potomac Mills including leasing, contract negotiation, staff supervision, office management, budgeting, tenant relations and marketing.

Hosn began his extensive career in the shopping center industry in 1986, serving in various roles, including director of operations/security director, assistant manager and general manager.  Most recently, Hosn held the position of Director of Retail Operations at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, overseeing Seminole Paradise, the hotel’s retail and entertainment complex featuring 17 restaurants, 11 nightclubs, 22 retail shops and a state-of-the-art concert arena. Just prior, he was The General Manager of Town Center at Boca Raton, a 1.8 million square foot luxury shopping destination in Boca Raton, FL, owned by Simon Property Group.  Also during his tenure with Simon Property Group, Hosn was the regional manager for a group of seven properties in a five-state region. 

While in South Florida Hosn sat on the board for the American Red Cross South Palm Beach County Chapter, was the Vice Chair and Treasurer in 2006 – 2007 for the Boca Chamber, served as Chairman of the Board for the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce during 2008, was Vice President for the Florence Fuller Child Development Centers and was active in the Boca Raton Rotary Club. In 2005 he was the recipient of the Gulf Stream Council of Boy Scouts of America Distinguished Citizen award.

Hosn has participated in various leadership management programs.  He is also an active member in the International Council of Shopping Centers.  He currently lives in Woodbridge, VA.
