Brain Dump

Some of the coming and going in PWC this week

As I sat down to write this morning, I tried to focus my thoughts. Writing weekly often means picking just one topic and attempting to put my thoughts in order and share with others in 700 words or less.
I’m great with the “sharing with others” but not so good with the “putting my thoughts in order.” I think I am besieged by such sheer volume of information it’s sometimes like a maelstrom, buffeting me one way, pushing me another, tugging at my mind and my heart.

When I first began writing, it was for the local paper as a way to share information. We are all so overwhelmed with information. This information comes at us from television, newspapers, radio, social media, blogs and conversation.  We’re bombarded with facts, opinions, requests, demands, and questions.

I’m sorry to tell you I am just going to use you readers today as a brain dump. I’m not trying to think of anything specifically…I’m just going to share with you what is running through my head, so below is a conglomeration of people, events and thoughts that occupy space. I always start by thinking about today and tomorrow, so am not completely undisciplined, but after that…it’s all sort of a blur! Stick with me and let me know if you read anything you like.

OK…here come the random thoughts beating me up! What made me start writing about events? I left my calendar at the Business Women of PWC lunch at Giorgio’s!  Why am I not faithful about entering events into my online calendars and still dependent on paper?  Thankfully, my friend, Teresa Giltner, picked it up for me. Just have to connect with her today to retrieve. Grateful for friends giving me cover! All right, crisis averted. What’s next?

2.17.2013; at 3:00PM,  Campaign Kickoff Event for Jeremy McPike, a candidate for the House of Delegate in the 31st District.

I’m not very political and in fact, have never voted a straight party ticket, trying to always choose a candidate that will be good at the job, without regard to party.

The coming week is packed, so will just have to pick what I can remember and have space to share.
