Switching Gears

I've been writing opinion here on Patch since the beginning. I'm going to start using this space to promote events and occasional commentary, but I'm no longer going to be writing weekly here on Patch.

I love this online publication and while I am happy to see the new look of Patch, I must tell you I am very disappointed with the performance of the "new" Patch.

I posted a blog last week that was rejected...Rejected after 3 years? I know it was an error, but I've been having problems posting events for two weeks and have spent more time with tech support than I have with my husband.

I guess I'm spoiled, but I am used to my blogs and events being posted immediately without error. I sincerely hope all the bugs are worked out soon.

I was interested in this event: http://woodbridge-va.patch.com/groups/events/p/ev--ident-a-child-program
but when I looked for the address, it only stated Woodbridge. When I clicked the link for map, I found a map of England.

It takes a long time to post events, especially on multiple Patch site, because each one must be done individually. When one invests the time, only to find your event is missing from the date picker or can't be found in a search or the information is missing or the format of the text has changed or any of the other half dozen problems I've experienced for the last two weeks...Well that's enough.

I'll be curious to see if this post makes it past the "friendly senior spam catching robot"
