Air Quality Alert Issued for Wednesday

Northern Virginia is under a code orange air quality alert.

If you have asthma, heart disease, lung disease or are part of a sensitive group the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality advises you stay inside Wednesday.

A code orange air quality alert has been issued, which means that air pollution for some aforementioned groups may be unhealthy.

Young children and the elderly are also advised to stay inside. The Virginia DEQ says to avoid strenuous activity or exercising outdoors during the day.
