Flash Flood Watch Until Wednesday Afternoon

Prince William County is under a flash flood watch as continued rain is expected.

With rain expected to continue into Wednesday, the National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Prince William County extending into Wednesday afternoon.

The NWS said that in addition to the rain that has already soaked the area, another 1 to 3 inches could fall, with the possibility of up to 5 inches in some areas with heavy thunderstorms. This means that creeks and streams, such as the Neabsco Creek, could rapidly rise and water could accumulate in other areas.

The forecast for Woodbridge calls for a 100 percent chance of rain overnight Tuesday through Wednesday night, with a total of up to two inches of rain possible in that time.
