Flood Warning Issued for Woodbridge

Up to two inches could fall by this evening.

The National Weather Service has issue a Flood Warning for the Northern Virginia area through late Sunday night. A flood warning means flooding is imminent or has been reported.

Moderate to heavy amounts of rain are expected to fall this afternoon through early evening with accumulations of 1 inch to 2 inches on average and certain areas experiencing greater amounts. Small streams and creeks may rise beyond their banks and residents should take precautions.

Under a warning, streams will rise slowly and flash flooding is not expected, but residents should take necessary precautions. Residents should stay alert for flood warnings and those living in low areas should be prepared to take action in case flooding occurs.
