Do you have guests in town for Inauguration Weekend?

Chances are, your guests will want to do more than sit on your couch waiting for the second inauguration of President Barack Obama on Monday, Jan. 21. So, we’ve rounded up some things you can do right here in Woodbridge and Occoquan to keep your guests entertained and happy.

If your guests want to take in the Occoquan River, try the boat tours from Rivershore Charters. Tours offered every Saturday and Sunday from noon to one hour before dark. It's $12 for adults, $6 for kids 4 to 12, and free for kids younger than 4. If you and your guests have a hankering for something more active, go hiking in Prince William Forest Park.

For shopping, there's Potomac Mills Mall and the recently opened Potomac Town Center. If you'd rather support small businesses, come to Occoquan and visit Details, Glory Be, the Loft Gallery, Salt & Pepper Books, Willow Street Decor, the Golden Goose, Occoquan Antiques, and many more.  

If you get hungry, try Joe's Pizza in Woodbridge. Joe's pizza was chosen for best submarine sandwich in Prince William County in our 2012 Readers' Choice contest. Follow that up with a cupcake at Confections, or some ice cream at Frostie Moose, each chosen for best of their category in the 2012 Readers' Choice contest. It's been a warm winter, after all. And don't forget about Occoquan: with delicious dining options such as Blue Arbor, the Garden Kitchen, Madigan's Waterfront, Cock & Bowl, and Bistro L'Hermitage, there's something for everyone. The NFL playoffs continue Sunday afternoon and evening, and you can watch them at the Bungalow Alehouse or at another spot in Woodbridge.
