Overnight Ramp Detour From Route 1 South to I-95 South

Traffic to be detoured across river to Gordon Blvd.

  • The following comes from Virginia Department of Transportation. It is unedited.

In anticipation of the opening of a new additional southbound lane on I-95 between Lorton and Occoquan before the July 4 holiday weekend, the Virginia Department of Transportation is closing the ramp from Route 1 south to I-95 south in the overnight hours on Tuesday, June 28, and Wednesday, June 29.

Each night, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., the ramp will close for milling and paving. Motorists on Route 1 south heading to I-95 south will directed to continue south on Route 1, across the Occoquan River, make a right on Gordon Boulevard (Route 123) north and follow signs to I-95.

The $123 million I-95 Widening project runs approximately six miles from the Fairfax County Parkway to Route 123 in Prince William County. For more information, go toVAmegaprojects.com.
