Disruption in Blackberry email, texting and Web browsing spread to the U.S. Wednesday
Significant BlackBerry service disruption began three days ago and spread from Europe, Africa and other parts of the world to North America on Wednesday, according to Reuters, affecting many users across the United States—including this Patch editor.
The Black(Berry) Plague generally disrupts emails, while completely shuttering messaging and Web browsing for BlackBerry's Research In Motion (RIM) devices. The problem stems from a failure in the message routing that created a huge backlog in data, Reuters said. RIM is working to clear the backlog of information.
