The FBI and the U.S. Attorneys Office for the District of Columbia are not releasing many details about a March 9 raid on Bremerton Drive in Dale City that rocked an otherwise quiet neighborhood when agents tossed flash grenades and snipers perched over homes.

“I recognize that everybody would like information on this,” said FBI spokeswoman Katherine W. Schweit. “We have not released any information.”

Lake Ridge-Occoquan Patch:

rince William County police have identified that the human bones discovered off Minnieville Road and Prince William Parkway last summer are those of a woman who was reported missing six years ago.

Now investigators are trying to figure out how Linda Mae Archer, 58, died.

A police report released today states that in January 2005 police responded to Elm Farm Road after Archer's family reported that the small-framed, long-hair, blue eyed Archer hadn't been seen since October 2004. Investigators for years could not determine any places Archer may have gone and they found no evidence of foul play or any reason to classify the case that way.

The presentation of Manassas Park’s recommended budget for fiscal year 2012 was, for the most part, centered on how to overcome the city’s $1.5 million budget shortfall.

Manassas Park City Manager Jim Zumwalt presented the recommended budget Tuesday night during the regular city council meeting. He explained that the city’s total expenditures are expected to be $35.3 million, but the city’s expected revenue is only $34.1 million, hence the $1.5 million shortfall.

Zumwalt explained in detail what steps the city could take to bring their budget back into the black.

Manassas Patch:

Police in Prince William County are asking for the public’s help in identifying the man responsible for a home invasion and sexual assault in the Bristow Village community outside of Manassas.

Police said the victim, identified as a 38-year-old woman, reported a man forced his way into her home in the area of Infantry Lane Friday,  March 18th,  shortly before 11 a.m. and sexually assaulted her.

The victim struggled with the assailant who eventually fled the home in a medium-sized, white two-door pickup truck. Police are not sure of the year and model of the vehicle, but said it does not appear to be new.

The Board of County Supervisors unanimously approved two proffer amendments for Woodbridge development projects on Tuesday evening.

The amendments changed the planned use of the Rippon Center project and the Potomac Town Center project, after both received the recommendation of approval from the Planning commission and county staff.

The Rippon Center amendment included the building of a 600-space parking garage for the VRE station, as well as reducing the amount of office spaces in the plans and lowering the building heights from 10 stories to five stories.
