Severe Weather Expected Overnight in Woodbridge

National Weather Service sent out a wind advisory and a flash flood watch.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch and a wind advisory for Woodbridge, VA until 11 a.m. tomorrow.

Although the weather seems calm now, it is expected to pick up over night and will most likely affect tomorrow morning's commute.

NWS said that wind gusts of 45-50 mph will kick in overnight while a strong cold front will move in overnight bringing with it one to two inches of rain.

Virginia Rail Express said that if a flash flood warning is issued the Manassas line will be reduced to 15 mph which will cause at least an hour delay and the Fredericksburg line will be reduced to 40 mph, causing 40-60 minute delay.

According to an e-mail sent out via Train Talk from VRE, "If flood restrictions are implemented, trains will depart the first few stations relatively close to on-time, with delays progressing as the train travels towards Washington."
