Woodbridge Man Charged With DUI, Hit and Run

Officers pursued the accused along Old Bridge Road.

Woodbridge resident Gael Melendez Marroquin, 18, was arrested and charged Sept. 8 for driving under the influence, eluding police, a hit and run and driving without an operator's license, Prince William County police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.

Early in the morning of Sept. 8, a PWC police officer tried to stop a car near Old Bridge Road and Rolling Brook Drive.

"The driver, later identified as the accused, ignored the officer's lights and siren and proceeded down Old Bridge Road to Occoquan Road then to Hylton Ave," Perok said in a statement.

During the chase, Marroquin allegedly struck a curb and caused part of it to break off.

"The accused then stopped the vehicle at Hylton Ave and Maple Leaf Court and fled on foot," Perok wrote.
