Extreme Make-over (s) ... can be Iffy ...

It is probably not a great idea to give yourself an extreme beauty make-over just before any Holiday, but that doesn't mean that you don’t want to look fabulous while you are at parties and events. I have a list of beauty do's and don’ts that you may want to conceder when deciding a whole new you, or just a polished you.

Don't get too dry. Do go beyond moisturizer
The chilly winter air outside and hot air inside can be a recipe for seriously dry hair and skin. Paul Mitchell Awapuhi moisture mist HYDRATING SPRAY Moisturizes Hair – Lactic acid and the Activated Moisture blend of awapuhi provide deep moisture and enhanced shine, Softens Skin – Spirulina and plankton extracts are rich in amino acids and vitamins essential for soft, healthy-looking skin- Soothes and Revives – Sodium PCA is a naturally occurring component of human skin which is responsible for the moisture binding properties and helps to revive tired skin and reactivate styling products. When deep conditioners and lotions aren't quite enough, a humidifier can help.

Don't forget finishing touches. Do get creative with nails.
Add some flash and fun to wardrobe neutrals with pops of nail color. Exquisite nails continue to be an integral part of fashion. Nothing completes a look more beautifully than nails wearing the season’s most significant colors; changing a lacquer shade can change a woman’s entire look – and her outlook. OPI means luxuriant color, and luxuriant is what this season’s beauty is all about.

Don't look tired. Do look fresh & bright with easy tricks.
So many parties, so little time! When the holiday season steals your sleep, try relaxing tired eyes with tea bags. Make yourself 2 cups of tea, place the warm, NOT HOT, tea bags on your eyes, 20 minute cool down time, sipping the tea, you are relaxed, and your eyes feel 100 % better. No time for an at-home spa treatment? Try applying a light neutral skin tone shade of eye shadow on the inner rim of your lower eyelid.

Don't be shy about lip color. Do try out fun shades.
When you want to add that final pop to your look, reach for a bold, bright lip color. A rich, old Hollywood red adds color and freshness. And don't forget to keep your pucker smooth and hydrated with a great lip balm like Hempz Lip Balm.

Men, Don't forget to update your cologne. Do try a new scent.
Every season has its signature scent, so check out something new to match the shift in the weather. Shift your scent with the season; it adds a little something special to the Holidays. Try on American Crew’s Classic Fragrance. Their unique fragrance for men contains spice & citrus notes, perfect for the holiday season.

Don't get the hair "blahs." Do try different looks.
Tired of pin-straight tresses? Try beautiful ringlets or loose, romantic curls. Want to go sleek and straight? First, apply Paul Mitchell Straightening Serum or Paul Mitchell’s Straightening Balm, and then choose a styling tool with smooth, even heat. A Paul Mitchell hair dryer or ceramic straightener will have your hair sleek and straight in no time.

Don't forget your budget. Do try out the new shades from PM Shines.

Don't be afraid to try new products. Do shop trial sizes.
Get out of a beauty rut by trying Take Home value sets from Paul Mitchell to see what's new. You can also get all the classics in one package.

Don't forget to change makeup. Do find easy ways to update.
Going from the office straight to an evening function? When you can't do a full about-face, pack along a couple of items to quickly transition from day to night. For a more dramatic evening look, try smudging a soft eyeliner pencil in the upper and lower lash lines. Then add an extra coat of mascara. Add a fresh coat of lipstick, and you're good to go!

For some gals, big hair never goes out of style.
And why should it? It’s sexy and bodacious. Here’s how Paul Mitchell Stylists achieve maximum volume. First, apply Volumizing spray or Extra Body Daily Boost spray foam at the roots, about 1/4 inches away from the scalp. Then apply Extra Body Styling Foam to midshafts and ends. Working section by section, lift strands straight up and hit the roots with heat. (Use the nozzle on your dryer to direct the airflow.) At the top, lift and over direct sections as you dry. Then, go back and dry the ends with a Paul Mitchell medium-sized brush. Once you’re finished, you have maximum oomph.
