Holiday Open House Ends With Tree Lighting Countdown

About 300 were in attendance for the tree lighting.

Occoquan was filled with visitors during last night's Holiday Open House as shoppers milled about the small shops, collecting stickers, visiting with shop owners and listening to carols.

The night finished with the annual tree lighting. Mayor Earnie Porta led the crowd in counting to ten before a local resident lit the tall tree in front of Town Hall.

Porta estimated that about 300 had come this year for the tree lighting ceremony, which would make it the largest turnout so far.

Were you in town yesterday? What was your favorite part of the open house?
