HOT Lanes Plan Open for Comments

Have comments on the High Occupany Toll lane proposal? Submit them to the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation.

  • From VDOT:

The draft I-95 Transit and Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Plan, is available for public review and comment. Comments will be accepted until Oct. 26, 2011.

The report identifies potential transit and TDM improvements along the I-95 corridor, from Spotsylvania County to Fairfax County, needed to address the anticipated increase in congestion during the high occupancy vehicle (HOV) and high occupancy toll (HOT) lane construction. The plan also determines cost-effective transit and TDM improvements for the corridor for 2015, 2020, 2035 and beyond.

“The report shows ways to preserve and increase transit capacity use, and operational efficiency throughout the corridor.  It also demonstrates ways to increase transit levels of service in a cost-effective manner while providing increased service to activity centers along the heavily congested I-95 corridor,” said Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation director Thelma Drake.
