5K to Honor Fallen Prince William County Police Officer Chris Yung

A Prince William County Police motorcade will lead the 5K.

Prince William County runners will honor the memory of Officer Chris Yung with a memorial 5K on September 22.

The 5K will be led by a motorcade of Prince William County Police motorcycle patrol officers and starts at 8 a.m. at the Kelley Leadership Building in Woodbridge.

Registration is $30 until September 1; after that date the prince will rise to $35. Proceeds will benefit a fund for Law Enforcement United in Officer Yung's name.

Yung, a traffic officer with the Prince William County Police Department for seven years, was responding to a crash in Bristow on December 31, 2012, when another driver turned in front of his motorcycle at an intersection. He was the third officer in the department's history to die in the line of duty.
