Alexandria Man Hit in Head With Handgun in Woodbridge

The victim told police that he was struck after his assailant discovered he had no money.

Police are looking for a man who reportedly struck an Alexandria man in the head with a handgun in Woodbridge on July 2, police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said. 

The victim, 31, told police that he was in an argument with an unknown woman in the 900 block of Annapolis Way in Woodbridge. The argument grew heated, and an unknown man who was with the woman reportedly pulled out a handgun and demanded the victim's money. When the man realized the victim had no money, he reportedly struck the victim on the head with the handgun. 

The man and the woman then reportedly left the area in a white van before police arrived at 10:23 p.m.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated for his injuries, which were not critical. 

Police are looking for a black male about 25 to 35 years old, 6' 2" tall, 180 pounds, of a medium build with short, black, braided hair. The victim described him as wearing a black baseball cap with a Capital logo, and blue jeans and a black shirt. The police are investigating this incident as a malicious wounding and attempted armed robbery.

Police are also looking for a black female about 20 to 30 years old, of a medium build, with no further description available.

The vehicle was described as a white van with D.C. license plates.
