Crime Blotter: Woodbridge-Area Burglaries

A list of burglaries between Nov. 30 and Dec. 4.

Woodbridge-area residents reported the following apparently unrelated burglaries to Prince William County Police over the past week.

Nov. 30: At 2:08 p.m., a homeowner on the 14700 block of Birchdale Avenue reported to police a burglary occurred a short time earlier in the day, between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. The burglar likely entered through the front door, which was forced open. However, the resident did not report any property missing.

Dec. 3: At 2:59 p.m., a homeowner on the 14800 block of Empire Street reported a burglary occurred between 8:30 a.m. and 2:50 p.m. The burglar appeared to have entered through a rear dog door, which was previously boarded up. Police believe the burglar removed the boards and then stole a laptop, gaming console and other property, which were valued around $2,000.

Dec. 3: At 1:50 p.m., a homeowner on the 2100 block of Sentry Falls Way reported to police a burglary occurred between 9:15 a.m. and 1:10 p.m. Police said there were no signs of forced entry, and the burglar probably entered through an unsecured window. The homeowner was missing a laptop, valued around $2,000.

Dec. 4: At 5:09 p.m., a homeowner on the 2800 block of Cedar Crest Court reported a burglary occurred between 8:15 a.m. and 3 p.m. Entry was likely made through a rear sliding glass door, which was forced open, police said. The burglar reportedly made off with about $2,500 worth of jewelery.
