Dumfries Man and Woman Charged With Grand Larceny

Police reportedly found a truck containing items from the burglarized house.

Police have charged Gregory Gene Garcia, 41, and Connie Renee Garcia, 36, both of Dumfries, with burglary and grand larceny, Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.

Police initially responded to a house in the 18200 block of Joplin Road in Triangle on Oct. 24 at 8:07 p.m. for the report of a burglary in progress.

"A caller reported to police that he heard loud noises coming from a neighbor’s residence. Officers arrived and discovered that the rear door to the home was forced open," Perok said. "A police K-9 was used to check the residence. No one was located inside. While investigating, officers located a truck parked to the rear of the residence which contained items that were removed from the house."

When they checked the truck, police reportedly found a purse containing Connie Garcia's identification.

"Detectives from the Property Crimes Unit were able to determine that the accused suspects listed below forcibly entered the residence and removed several items which were loaded onto the truck," Perok said. "The truck was unable to start and the suspects fled prior to police arrival."

Police found the Garcias nearby and arrested them. Their court date is Nov. 13.
