Updated 3:33 p.m.

Authorities are in the final stages of clearing the wreckage from a fatal morning crash on I-95.

The accident took place at 11:15 a.m. near exit 152 in the Dumfries area, according to Virginia State Police. Lanes should reopen by 3:45 p.m., police said.

Authorities said a Nissan Versa was headed southbound on I-95 when it ran off the left side of the road and struck a wall. The impact sent the Nissan airborne, where it landed on a Honda Civic that was also headed south on I-95.

The man who was driving the Nissan and his passenger were taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. Their names have not been released.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.
