Fatal Wreck on Prince William Parkway

Second driver flown to hospital with serious injuries, according to The Washington Post.

A motorist is dead following a two-vehicle crash on Prince William Parkway overnight, according to Prince William County Police.

Jason Nathaniel Ayers, 37, of Nokesville, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The wreck occurred at 1:58 a.m. near Crooked Knoll Way.

According to police, a 2001 Subaru Impreza RS driven by Ayers was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of the Parkway when the vehicle collided head on with a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt traveling westbound.

The drive of the Chevrolet, a 23-year-old woman of Alexandria, was flown to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Traffic through the area was still delayed Tuesday morning, according to The Washington Post.
