Homeowners in the Woodbridge area recently reported the loss of a combined $6,000 worth of valuables after a string of burglaries, including a gaming console, jewelry, and laptops, Prince William County police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.
A homeowner in the 2800 block of Cedar Crest Court reported the loss of $2,500 worth of jewelry. The homeowner told police that the burglary happened between 8:15 a.m. and 3 p.m. Dec. 4. The burglar most likely entered the home by forcing open a rear sliding glass door, police said.
A homeowner in the 14800 block of Empire Street reported the loss of a laptop, a gaming console, and other items, all worth about $2,000. The homeowner told police the burglary happened between 8:30 a.m. and 2:50 p.m. Dec. 3. The burglar most likely entered through a dog door in the back of the house. The door had been boarded up, police said.
"It is believed the suspect(s) removed the boards and entered the residence," Perok said.
A homeowner in the 2100 block of Sentry Falls Way reported the loss of a $2,000 laptop. The homeowner told police the burglary happened between 9:15 a.m. and 1:10 p.m. The burglar most likely entered through an unsecured window, as there were no signs that anyone had forced their way into the home.
