Garage Fire Leaves One Family Displaced

One firefighter sustained minor injuries.

The Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Fire Department put out a garage fire last night along Roanoke Street in Woodbridge, according to OWL VFD Public Relations Specialist Rebecca Barnes.

OWL VFD responded at 9:08 p.m. to the report of a house fire. 

"Initial units arrived on scene within minutes and reported visible fire from the garage side of the home," Barnes said. "The fire was quickly located in the garage and was under control within eight minutes."

Dale City VFD and PWC Department of Fire & Rescue also responded. One firefighter sustained minor injuries. Three dogs were removed from the house, and one family was displaced.  

"The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Prince William County Fire Marshal’s office," Barnes said.
