Girl, 13, Dies After Hit-And-Run Wreck

Suspect faces manslaughter and DUI charges, according to Prince William County Police.

A 13-year-old girl died Monday from injuries sustained in a Sunday morning crash in Woodbridge. The victim was identified as Antoinette Peters, 13, of Alexandria.

Duane Chaldron Brown, 32, of the 14000 block of Danville Road, Woodbridge, is charged with manslaughter-DUI related, felony hit & run, driving under the influence, driving on a revoked license and unreasonable refusal. Brown is being held without bond.

Investigators responded at 1:41 a.m. Sunday to the area of Touchstone Circle and Old Bridge Road regarding the crash.

According to police, Brown was driving a 2010 Nissan Sentra westbound on Old Bridge Road when he disregarded the red traffic signal at the intersection, hitting a 1998 Ford Explorer turning onto Old Bridge. 

Antoinette and a 13-year-old boy were unrestrained in the back seat of the Explorer, according to police spokesperson Jonathan Perok. Both children were ejected from the vehicle.

The boy, of Woodbridge, along with the driver and a front seat passenger in the Explorer, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Brown reportedly fled the scene on foot, but was eventually located by a K-9 unit. Brown also had to be hospitalized, due to internal injuries from the crash.
