Dale City Man Shoots at Armed Home Invaders

No one reported any injuries, according to Prince William County Police.

Two masked gunmen broke into a Dale City home Sunday night—but they were thwarted by the homeowner, who shot at them with a handgun, Prince William County Police said.

Police say the incident was not random. A 23-year-old man, who lives in the basement of the home on the 14800 block of Cordell Avenue, reported at 10:52 p.m. that two unknown, masked men broke in through a rear basement-level door. The resident fired his own handgun toward the intruders, and the round struck an interior room in the home, according to police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok. Both men fled the residence.

No one reported any injuries and the men did not take any property.

The first suspect is described as a black male, 5'10", 185 pounds, with a heavy build, wearing a gray shirt and black mask.

The second suspect is described as a black male, 6'1", 155 pounds, with a muscular build and shoulder length dreadlocks. He was wearing a black shirt, black mask and gloves.
